The goal, as usual, is increased comfort, security, and energy efficiency. But Shelly has truly leveled up this time, introducing gadgets that not only let us imagine the smart home of the future, but actually put it in our hands. Let’s dive in and see these developments together!
The Gen3 and Gen4 Story: Not Just a Facelift…
You know, the Gen3 series was already doing great, with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, and Matter support, making installation a breeze. But Gen4, now that’s a whole different league! This is where Wi-Fi 6 comes in, along with a beefy processor, and double the memory. The latter is especially important, because as expectations grow, so does the need for complex, powerful automations. With built-in Zigbee and Matter support, truly nothing can stand in our way when it comes to compatibility. Would you have thought a single device could switch so flexibly between protocols? I admit, I enjoy not having to compromise anymore. MQTTS, webhooks, local storage, even KNX integration? This is no longer the “let’s wire it up with a few cables and hope for the best” category; these are real professional solutions that also double as Wi-Fi and Zigbee extenders. And more memory, you know, means we can write even crazier, longer scripts to easily optimize our energy consumption and home scenarios. Totally addictive, believe me!

- Shelly Flood Gen4 Smart Leak/Burst Pipe Sensor: Now, this is the gadget that can save us from many sleepless nights. It’s an advanced sensor with multi-protocol support (Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.0, Zigbee, Matter), which in itself guarantees flexibility. The best part is that it doesn’t just monitor one spot; with a flexible sensor cable extendable up to 150 meters, it can cover a much larger area than traditional point sensors. They can be installed in single-phase or three-phase systems (even with neutral wire interruption), available in various amperage classes (think 16A, 25A, 48A, or even 63A solutions), so there’s a device for every need. ZWLR technology offers extended range, low power consumption, and enhanced security, plus it can support up to 4000 devices within a single network. This is no longer the Z-Wave we knew 5-10 years ago.
